The front panel layout is the same as most hardware compressors, making it easy to use. A quick overview of the controls:
relationship:
The ratio controller works logarithmically. Fully counterclockwise is 1.
1, full clockwise is 1.
The 12 o'clock position is 1.
10, so everything left of center is a single digit, and everything to the right is essentially "nuclear breakage". Attack and Release:
Since you omitted the actual value of time, you should use your ears like Hemen did in Age of Myths.
meters:
The large dial in the middle of the user interface is the gain reduction meter. It basically tells you how much compression is taking place.
sensitivity:
Today it's often called "threshold", but I think "sensitivity" will always make more sense. Turning to the right basically gives you more compression. Turned all the way to the right, it becomes a distortion box whose tone is adjusted by Ratio, Attack and Release.
form:
30 dB of gain to compensate for compressor attenuation.
Activate:
On the front panel, this is just an on/off button, but when automated, strange things happen…
