the NastyVCS offers everything you need to shape the dynamics and tone of your channels. It offers a dedicated input stage with crunchy preamp saturation and a brickwall safety limiter on the output stage. Everything is set up to run at zero latency and therefore be available for hassle-free tracking and mixing.
Two dedicated filters can be used in the audio path or in the compressor side chain, which can also be external. Whether pre- or post-compression, the equalizer section offers four interactive coloring tools with well-selected sound curves. The concept is complemented by a phase alignment tool that can also be used for coloring purposes.
Tips and tricks
NastyVCS really shines when all three dynamic tools are combined correctly. Condense the dynamics into a few small amounts directly at the input stage, apply some gentle compression without affecting punch/transients, then let the limiter eat up some peaks at the output
