preFIX is an audio premixing and alignment
tool that typically occurs before the mixing process.
It provides an intelligent set of tools for cleaning, correcting and aligning audio tracks (typically taken from recordings) related to general frequency correction, phase alignment, spatial stereo field corrections and routing. It contains a complete gate/expander solution with a dedicated and comprehensive side-chain filtering path as well.
Audio path main filter:
Baxandall style shelf filter with crystal clear audio quality.
Smooth Butterworth high- and low-pass filter with selectable characteristics (12 and 24dB per octave).
Both are oversampled and correspond to the behavior of the analog model curve.
Sidechain path EQ and filter:
Full-spectrum “tilt-style” balancing filter with adjustable center frequency.
Smooth Butterworth high- and low-pass filter with selectable characteristics (12 and 24dB per octave).
A dedicated parametric peak equalizer.
Switchable internal/external sidechain.
Sidechain listening option.
Gate/Expander:
Adjustable threshold between -80 and +6dBFS.
Freely adjustable knee from hard to soft knee behavior up to 1:2 downward expander mode.
Range limitation option (floor).
Switchable channel link.
Envelope follower section with attack, hold and release control.
The attack time features console-style peak times as well as two RMS modes.
Additional gate pre-opening delay option.
